Content

This lecture gives an introduction to the theoretic background of machine learning.

Prerequisities

Solid background in the areas "Discrete Stuctures", "Linear Algebra", "Probability Theory", "Computability and Complexity" corresponding to the courses in the Computer Science Bachelor program at RWTH.

Basic knowldege in machine learning for example from the courses "Foundations of Data Science" or "Machine Learning"

Lecture will be held in English.

Exercises

There will be weekly exercise sheets. Completing these successfully, at least 50% of all possible points are gained, is necessary for the admittance to the examination.

The solutions to those exercise sheets will be presented in the exercise session.

Exam

There will be written exams of 120 minutes. The exam dates will be published in CampusOffice.
